Fares and tickets

Daily tickets

Single tickets are for one-way journeys and details of single fares on each Green Line route are shown on the individual service pages.

Return tickets are for journeys to a destination and back again. Details of these are shown on the individual service pages.

  • Day Return tickets are for when you are coming back on the same day as your outward journey.
  • Peak and Off-Peak Day Return tickets are available on all Green Line services to London. Off-peak tickets are valid on the first service after 0900 travelling to London.  There is no peak time if your journey is starting in London. There are no peak and off-peak tickets available on Green Line 724.
  • Period return tickets are for when you are coming back on a different day. They allow you to come back any time up to 3 months after your outward journey. Period returns are available on all Green Line services except 712 and 724.

Holders of concessionary bus passes can travel on Green Line services free of charge after 0930 weekdays and all day weekends and bank holidays.  On weekday evenings, your journey will need to have commenced before 23.00 to qualify for free travel. Additional benefits apply on Green Line 724 for passholders whose passes were issued in Hertfordshire: these passes are valid all day.

10-Journey tickets will save you money if you travel regularly but not 5 days a week.  These are available on Green Line 797 only and include a discounted 10-Journey ticket for students.
