Aberystwyth
Holiday resort Aberystwyth is home to the National Library and the University of Wales Aberystwyth. The popular town has a number of traditional seaside attractions, including beaches, pier and a harbour, and the immediate area also holds the visible remains of an Iron Age Fort, along with some fantastic scenery.

The Castle is maintained by Aberystwyth Town Council, has open access all year round and wonderfully tended grounds. The castle is itself is in ruins but it is still possible to get a sense of how it would have been in its prime. The fact that it is so close to the sea adds to the atmosphere and makes it a very pleasant place to spend time.

This is a popular cycle trail that links Aberystwyth with Tregaron. It follows the Ystwyth River for most of the way and the cycle path winds through countryside with amazing views.
